Houdini

So, I just went to return the letter to the mail room and Alice Bakioglu was working. I explained the letter and the name on it, and she seemed very concerned. She said that strange things have been happening to her and a guy named Steven also. She said that she was receiving what appeared to be old love notes that were from someone named "harry" to someone named "Bess". She said that Steven found an old skeleton key in his gym locker that had "H. Houdini" engraved on it. What does this all mean? I'm beginning to get worried. Maybe the letter I received was for Bess Houdini? This is all so bizarre! I've heard of Harry Houdini before since he's one of the most famous magicians of all time, be he died YEARS ago! I'm assuming his wife (who I'm guessing is Bess) died years ago as well. Weren't they alive in the early 1900's? I think Harry Houdini lived in Appleton for a while too! There is a history museum next the the campus chapel that has an exhibit on him. After I talked with Alice, I went and got dinner, but I had a hard time keeping the food down because I was so nervous. I then went to check my mail again (I'm not entirely sure why...maybe I was expecting another strange letter), and there was a note from Alice in my SPC box. It said that I need to meet her and Steven under the willow tree at 9 PM. I think there's only 1 willow tree on campus, so it shouldn't be too hard to find. I'm so nervous! It's already 8 PM, and I don't know what to expect. My heart is pounding! Does that sound stupid? Maybe I'm just overreacting...

Odd Mail

So, I went to check my mail earlier and I didn't think anything of it at the time, but now that I'm back in my room something doesn't seem right. I looked at the person this letter was addressed to and it said "B. Houdini". What does that mean? I decided to open the letter (even though I probably shouldn't have...) and it was a doctor's note. It looked extremely old! I think the note was about a pregnancy. Is this some kind of joke? Maybe I'm even less popular than I thought and someone is trying to play a prank on me. I know I'm certainly not pregnant! I also don't know any Lawrence student named "B. Houdini". I guess I should just return this letter to the mail room and explain that it's not mine (and also explain that I didn't see who it was addressed to until after I opened it. I don't want to look bad!).  I scanned an image of the note (which is what the photo at the bottom of this post is). Is that bad? I hope I'm not intruding on someone's privacy! I just thought it looked very odd... it just seems so old!

I Overslept

I overslept and missed my biology class!! Oh well... I haven't missed class yet and I can just ask what I missed. Technically class isn't over yet, so I'm going to spend the extra time I have to check my mail and get lunch. I'm really craving a salad. It's odd because even though I'm a vegetarian, I don't usually like salads because I feel like I'm just eating grass. At least it's a healthy decision! I usually get spring rolls which seemed healthy, but then I learned that the sauce is full of sodium. After I get lunch and check my mail, I think I am going to head to the wellness center to work out. This is all new to me. Eating healthy...working out... I hope I can keep it up! Maybe if I lose weight, the guy I like in my biology class will start to notice me. Wouldn't that be something? I think that will be my motivation! Does that sound stupid and childish? Well, who cares. I'll do it anyways. It will be good for my body anyways. I'll post another blog a little later today when I have some spare time. In the meantime, have a wonderful day internet world!

My love for Video Games

Wow, this is my third post today. I need to get a life! Anyways, I forgot to mention in the last two posts that I love video games. It is what I am typically doing when I’m not busy with school or my novels. My favorite series of games is the Kingdom Hearts series. I find the romance between Sora and Kairi so adorable and yet sad. I’ve beaten all of the games in the series with the exception of “Birth By Sleep”, which came out on the PSP (I don’t have a PSP). I’m so excited because the game “Dream Drop Distance” is coming out on July 31st!! I’ve been waiting for a new game in the Kingdom Hearts series for so long! As a celebration of the new game being released, I made an AMV (anime music video). It mashes clips from Kingdom 1 and 2 with the song “This momentary” by Delphic. I’m so proud of it! The first half of the video is alright, but the second half is the best part. The scenes in the video move with the beat and increase with intensity as the song progresses.

I also made a few other Kingdom Hearts AMVs, but I'll only upload one more on here (the rest can be found on my Youtube channel which is called JosieSkelepire. It's a stupid name, but my friend made it for me in middle school and used her name on accident). This last video that I'm going to post is Kingdom Hearts clips paired with the song "Sampson" by Regina Spektor. I think the lyrics fit the Kingdom Hearts scenes perfectly!

About me (Continued)

Now that I have eaten, I can write more about myself (no more tummy rumbling!). Okay, now that you have learned where I go to school and what my major is (and some pathetic romance…), I’ll write more about my interests outside of school:
I love cats. I’m obsessed with them. I sometimes worry that I will become the crazy cat lady with no friends when I’m older. I’ve never been able to own a cat because my parents are allergic and we’re obviously not allowed to have them in dorms. I wish I could get an apartment  next year, but Lawrence requires that I live in a dorm ALL 4 YEARS! It’s so sad. I feel like I’m being held back. I’m an adult…I feel like I’m living at a boarding school for children. Well, I guess this is better than going to school while living at home with my parents (they live 10 minutes away. I know, I didn’t go far. I wish I could afford to go to school in California).

My favorite breed of cat is the Scottish Fold. Aren't their ears cute? Their ears are folded due to a cartilage defect (but there aren't any problems with the breed due to this). The cat in this photo is in the "buddah position" which is very common for a fold to sit in. I think I like this cat because they're lazy and unique just like me (as cheesy as that sounds).

About Me

Wow, this is my first post. I think I'm really going to like blogging! I'm hoping it will allow me to become more social by meeting people on the web. It's hard making friends in college... this is my first year and I haven't been able to find anyone similar enough to me. I need to learn to be less shy! Anyways, I’ll describe more about myself:
First off, I'm an English major at Lawrence University in Appleton Wisconsin. I'm not entirely sure what I want to do after college, but hopefully if I'm successful enough, I'll be able to publish a few books that I have been working on (none of them are finished). My favorite topic to write about is romance. Sometimes I wonder if I write romance novels because I’m longing for romance myself… it seems that everyone my age has a significant other. I worry that my novels won’t be very good because I don’t have any first hand knowledge of romance. There is a guy in my biology class that I really like, but I can’t work up the courage to talk to him. I’ll write more about myself in another blog after dinner. I’m starving!
